The Experience
Hi, I’m Sylvia Kate, the photographer behind Sylvia Kate Photography.
My passion for photography began in my teenage years, but it truly blossomed in 2018 when I attended a photography course in Castlebar with the talented John Mee. This experience inspired me to turn my lifelong hobby into a profession, and in 2020, I officially launched my photography business.
My greatest joy comes from working with people, building connections, and creating a comfortable atmosphere during every session. I particularly adore working with my youngest clients—seeing families return with their children time and time again is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
I specialize in family photography, weddings, and civil ceremonies, but I’m always open to other projects like product photography or real estate sessions. When I’m not capturing precious moments for my clients, I love traveling and photographing Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes, from majestic cliffs to serene lakes.
Originally from Poland, I moved to Ireland in 2005, where I welcomed my daughter. Over the years, I’ve documented countless moments of our lives through photography and video, which deepened my love for storytelling and the art of preserving memories.
My Education and Experience
My academic background is rooted in science and engineering, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Quality for Industry from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Management and Engineering from the University of Economy and Business in Wroclaw, Poland. This technical foundation has honed my organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking, all of which are invaluable in my photography work.
Additionally, my professional experience in quality management and customer service has taught me the importance of precision, reliability, and, most importantly, understanding the needs of others—skills I bring to every photography session.
